Austin Morel

Guitar, Bass, Ukulele

Originally from Fairfax, Austin Morel grew up in North Carolina, playing guitar in post-punk bands. Though he started off by playing rock, blues, and folk music, he took an interest in classical guitar, which led to him attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts at 17 years old where he studied with Michael Kudirka. From 2018-2019 he taught guitar at The Musicians Learning Center in Raleigh, NC before completing his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021, continuing to study guitar, composition, and music theory. He is excited about his return to the D.C. area.

Austin teaches guitar, ukulele, and bass. He encourages inclined students to write their own music, and will help the student nurture their inherent creativity. Students can expect fun yet structured lessons in which they will learn new songs and techniques. They can expect to grow as musicians and as artists, and although we will learn songs by the student’s favorite musicians, they will be exposed to new genres from time to time.
