Jonas Hsin-Yu Chen, born in Taiwan, is a pianist and educator. He currently works as a piano instructor at Harmonic Music Studios. Also, he serves at Holy Cross Church, where he collaborates with singers for services and liturgical events.
Jonas Hsin-Yu Chen works with students of various ages and levels. His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong technical foundations, musical understanding, and effective practice habits.
Also, he guides students to identify and develop their individual strengths in music while building confidence, musical curiosity, and independence at the keyboard.
During his time in Boston and New York, Jonas was a piano instructor at Brimmer and May School (Boston) and Anselmo Music Academy (New York). Also, he worked as a piano collaborator with choirs at Boston Latin School and the Cambridge Chinese Choral Society and appeared as a collaborative pianist in soloist competitions at Boston University and the Manhattan School of Music. In addition, Jonas was a pianist at Volunteer Musicians for the Arts (VMA), an organization dedicated to presenting community concerts throughout the Greater Boston area.
Jonas Hsin-Yu Chen holds a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the National Taipei University of Education in Taiwan, a Master’s degree from Boston University, and a Professional
Performance Diploma from Manhattan School of Music. Currently, he is pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance at The Catholic University of America, where his studies focus on advanced performance training and professional development.
